Why learn forging? That's a good question. As a novice, a paladin should not learn Forging, because you will need the lessons for other things once you become a Squire. Namely, More weaponry/Chivalry, and a little Devotion. However, once Trans Weaponry/Chivalry/Devotion, Forging is Very good to learn. It will give you the ability to earn a little money (not a lot, since most of the prices for things include the price of comms. You also gain the ability to make your own weapons, cutting out the middle man (I.E. Forger), and at Trans forging, you get Fullplate, which never decays, and has the best stats of any armor.

Well, to Forge your going to need the Comms, and the ability to forge what you want, which generally means spending a lot of lessons to get (as a minimum) to Mythical forging, so this isn't a skill that can be profitable as Middling levels of knowledge.
You will also need a forge, and later in this book, I'll have a list of where to find a few forges, so you won't have to go looking.
Mind you, Whenever you go forging, Remember to give yourself Plenty of time free to do so. And Always ALWAYS sleep before you forge! Its Really annoying to fall asleep while your forging, because if you don't wake up, It wastes your coal, and while your getting another, somebody could accidentally destroy what you were making.
