Ancient Rivalry

Lord Severn and Lady Chakrasul had long been rivals, and when The Ankyri were created, Lord Severn thought them to be the greatest of mortal beings. Lady Chakrasul staunchly disagreed, and set out to create beings greater than His. Her creations at the time were powerful, like the Ankyri, but She did not believe them to be beautiful, as things best suited for Corruption should be, so She set out to create another race of beings to rival that of Her brother's.

For this task, the mortal Llazuth was chosen, and she was imbibed with the power of the Lady Herself. However, where could She create these beings far from the prying eyes of the other divine, and especially, Her brother? She sent Llazuth underground to find a place suitable, but when none was found, she fell into dispair. She called to her Lady, and Chakrasul called upon the only other creatures living under the earth.
The Spiders. They rushed towards the towering form of the Lady Llazuth, but many shrunk away from her awesome power. Three in particular approached close, and were wrought into the original Djeirani (See chapter 4). Those that fell back just short of those three, became the giant spiders seen in Azdun today, the strongest of them being Agrasha.

The Djerani were indeed beautiful beyond compare, wise as the Anykri, and quite powerful. But for many years, they were sealed off from the world, and their Lady Llazuth..

The Black Rose of Djeir

The Story of the Black rose is such: Many years ago, after the creation of the Djeirani, the Lady Llazuth, who had so aided in their creation grew restless in her underground abode in Djeir. She warned them that she would need to take her leave soon, though with no way to measure time, the Djeir did not realize what this meant, until she was gone.

They searched frantically for her, but no trace of her or her whereabouts could be found, and eventually the search parties were called off, and life in Djeir continued as it had before her departure.
Months after her departure, a massive quake shook the city of Djeir, stones raining down upon those not quick enough to seek shelter, and continued for a week, before debating as quickly as it came.

Two days later, Llazuth returned, and helped rebuild the city of Djeir, but she was greatly weakened. She was found one day by Astori, in her sanctum on an island in the Black Lake, weakened and clutching a box of black crystal. Also there was the woman Jy'rilia Garilicci, of whom I will mention more later. She explained to us of her sickness, and her travels to the upper land to look for a cure, and while none was found, she was greatly weakened by a fight while in the upper realms, presumably with Zsarachnor. She gave the box then to Jy'rilia and bade her open it, when she could not, she told her the secret word of power, "Da'ath." It opened to display a maginficent rose of black onyx, beautiful beyond compare, before it was sealed again, as seamlessly as before.

She placed the box within an altar, and intoned that Jy'rilia would be the first Empress of Djeir, and Astori the first High Priest, and that while the rose lay within the sanctum, the power of the Empress would never be broken. She left the words of summoning with the High Priest, so that Djeir would never be harmed, even when they were no longer under her protection. Many days later, Llazuth dissapeared compleatly, for many years, until Djeir was one more opened..

Garilicci, Ash'Aji, and Laryas
When the three spiders that advanced closest to the Lady, they were transformed utterly into what the lady had hoped. The Djeirani.

The three of them bore the last names of Garilicci, Ash'Aji, and Laryas.
Of these three, the strongest line of them was the familiy of Garilicci, so it came to be that they were the rulers of Djeir, from Jy'rilia Garilicci to Irijali Garilicci and her brother.

Since their creation, the blood of these three households has remained pure, and they are very proud, never allowing outsiders to claim their name, nor partner with another of the family, since the features of the Djeirani are what are their sign of power. Those with the most distinctive features are often more respected amoung them. Today, all three families can still be found within Djeir.

Modern Djeir and the Djeirani

The Djeirani are a beatiful race, despite their quite exotic features.
Their skin is dark, with a tinge of purple to it, as well as a most distinctive bright lilac eyes charactaristic of their people. Unlike normal beings, their hair is white in their youth, and as they age, it turns black, as ours would gray. All Djeirani are also inherent of dark magic, which, as with their strength, increases in the night hours. The average Djeirani lives to be several centuries old, and they have few children. However, recently their race has been slowly fading as less and less children are born. The once large noble houses are now desperately small.

As you see in Djeir, there are creatures called Drakir, a darker version of an earth wyrm. They come from the Underworld, once accessable, but now closed off. The underworld is a beautiful and perilous place, full of massive caverns and stone forests, inhabited by wyrms and dragons.

-

Modern Djeir has changed much since its once-peaceful ways. The latest ruler, Lady Irijali once loved Santini Laryas, but she was told by her brother that he betrayed her, and she, trusting of her family, listened.
Serkhat, her younger brother, then created the Eithaga, a group of 'police' otherwise known as the Underguard, which are known for their gross brutality of the people of Djeir. However, Santini, remaining loyal to the Empress and to the people of Djeir created the Moreith, a band of outlaws to fight against Serkhat for the people and his lost love.

Almost oblivious to the world outside of her, the Empress Irijali wishes only for the Black Rose to once again be in her hold, so that she may once more rule again undoubtedly.

The Reopening of Djeir

After Lady Llazuth had been defeated by Zsarachnor, he decided months later to resurect her and use her power for himself. Before this happened, I was sent by the Lady Lachesis to retreive the body of Llazuth, and did my best to do so. While Zsarachnor attempted to revive her, an odd creature called an obormot came in and took the body, before speeding off and giggling insanely. I went asked him what he had done with 'The Pretty Lady,' which is what he called the Lady Llazuth, and he replied, 'Which part?'

From this point, he gave us odd little riddles to find the body parts of Lady Llazuth, and with the help of Irani and Esper, we singlehandedly recovered all the body parts, with none falling into the grasp of Zsarachnor. We returned all the parts to Lady Llazuth..

An obormot bounces fitfully in from the ether.

Lachesis, Mistress of Spiders cackles hellishly.

Lachesis, Mistress of Spiders says, "Where did you spring up from!"
Irani Amaratha says to Lachesis, Mistress of Spiders, "That is all the parts, is it not?"

Lachesis, Mistress of Spiders says, "It is, you have all done well, I am sure my mistress will be most pleased."
Lachesis lays out the various body parts on a slab of stone, carefully arranging them to fit together.

With a deep sigh, Lachesis slits her wrists, letting her blood flow over the body of her mistress.

An obfuscating obormot says, "I watch, yes?"
An obfuscating obormot says, "Just watch."
A soft whisper surges through the room, and for a moment all lights go out. When they return, Llazuth is revealed upon the slab, still inanimate yet whole.
Lachesis, Mistress of Spiders pants like a dog.

Lachesis raises her arms upward and begins to chant quietly, her voice reverbating in the room. Streaks of black energy fly towards Llazuth, whose body begins to jerk violently.

Llazuth's chest begins to rise and fall as her heart once more starts to beat in her breast. With a soft moan, she rises to her feet, murmuring in confusion.

Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "My dear Lachesis... You saved me yet again..."

Lachesis, Mistress of Spiders says, "As always it is a pleasure to serve
you mistress."
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "While I was gone..."
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "I have thought long on why the experiment failed...

Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "And I have found the answer."
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "I am stronger now. Thanks to everyone who helped me."

Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "To you, Avialle, Esper, Irani, I owe my gratitude."

Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "And the gratitude of my people."
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen rises to her feet and stretches to full height.

Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "Join me in saying the chants,
Lachesis. I want us to share this moment of triumph."
Lachesis, Mistress of Spiders says, "Yes, let us say the chants!"
You see Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen shout, "Mor de vulda elnur eja, indoronelnur eja!"
You see Lachesis, Mistress of Spiders shout, "Mor de vulda elnur eja, indoron elnur eja!"

You see Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen shout, "Sota tazi ye de dor kelo!"
You see Lachesis, Mistress of Spiders shout, "Sota tazi ye de dor kelo!"
You see Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen shout, "As I once was, now shall my enemy be! Begone now from my kingdom, vampire!"
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen thrusts her hands skywards, and a great web of black energy surges out.

A web of dark energy materializes over Azdun, settling downward. The
screams ofZsarachnor fill the air.

Zsarachnor, the Vampire Lord shouts, "I will not be destroyed!!"
A bolt of crackling green flame smashes into the ground above the Black Keep. The entirety of the dungeons shake wildly.

The roaring sound of an awoken river fill the silence left after the explosion.

Esper Bachourd, Radiant Sunlight says, "The Perilaus!"
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "A river..."
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "I hear the roar of River Perilaus!"

-
We traveled down a long river, and into a marvelous underground city -

Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "Ahh, finally, we have arrived."
Irijali, Empress of Djeir kneels before Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen, swearing her allegiance to Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen.

Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen sighs contentedly.

You flash Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen a joyous smile.

Irijali, Empress of Djeir says, "My Lady. We have waited long."
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "Irijali, it has been long indeed."

Irijali, Empress of Djeir says, "Our hearts had long since despaired to see you once more."

Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "Come with me!"
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "I have found the people, and now
I will leave them be."

Irijali, Empress of Djeir says, "It is as I thought. How could a great One suchas yourself be bound to the affairs of a single city."
Irijali, Empress of Djeir inclines her head.

Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen nods her head solemnly.

Irijali, Empress of Djeir says, "But by what joy do you come to us, Great Lady? For long have we searched for a way to breach the fallen stone and find once more the paths to the upperworld."
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "The path has been made, the river flows once more!"
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "See I bring people, from the upperworld."
You bow respectfully to Irijali, Empress of Djeir.

Esper bows respectfully to Irijali, Empress of Djeir.

Torsen bows respectfully to Irijali, Empress of Djeir.

Irijali, Empress of Djeir says, "It has been long since the dwellers of the sunlit lands walked our streets."
Irijali, Empress of Djeir says, "Welcome."
Your mouth turns up as your face breaks into a smile.

Esper Bachourd, Radiant Sunlight says, "Thank you, lady."
Llazuth, the Demon Spider Queen says, "They have aided me, in my return, a welcome they have deserved." Irijali, Empress of Djeir says, "They will forever be welcome in our fair city."
Irijali, Empress of Djeir says, "But come now, my Lady. We have much to discuss, you and I."
Irijali, Empress of Djeir says, "Let us leave these fine people to their tasks."

Irijali, Empress of Djeir says, "I am sure you will all find something to your liking in the city.
