To the monkish orders, primarily Hasike Predoran Krea'lin
Assistant to the First Kradan of the Althasai author of "The Clarity of the Hand"
We of the Paladins Guild are fully aware of the responsibilty that comes with the usage of such a deadly tool as a blade.
We decided to use it and take this responsibilty on our shoulders, guided by our honor and chivalry and our vows to follow the ideals of the Paladin knights, to use our swords wisely to defend those that cannot defend themselves and never to spill blood unnecessarily.

It is only true for the novices of the blade that the act of taking a life is not felt through the steel and handle. For the veteran warrior, the sword is only an extension of the arm and hand, amplifying the impact of each blow up to and beyond a point where hitting hurts as much as being hit.

Reducing the enemy to a simple "kill" can only happen if the attacker does not see or feel the results of his attacks. It is untrue that this is the case for a wielder of a blade. If we have to kill, we feel the enemies blood on our cheeks, and we see the results of each slash, not to speak of the blood and stench of a disembweled enemy. The deathcries of our enemies haunt each Paladin in his dreams, and when others sleep in peace, we perish for each life we had to take to defend their peaceful sleep.

Nonetheless, you are right with what you said in the end: Woe to those that kill with indifference! But the tool does not matter.

Sir Koron Thylarian

Knight of the Paladins
