I know exactly the feeling.  We have squirrels that hang around our neighbourhood.  I caught two of them being stalked by a cat the other day.  I hid inside and cheered on the cat.  Unfortunately, due to dumb luck, the squirrels saw the cat and ran up a tree.

they're all over the place, here.

There's this guy whon lives across the street who has a huge pile of sunflower seeds around the tree in his front yard.  Stupid Freeloading squirrels.

I used to put peanuts out in the front yard just so they'd leave my sunflower-seed filled BIRD feeders in the back yard alone.  I've since stopped both.

Heh.

We used to dip pinecones in peanut butter, then roll them in birdseed, you know, like you did in third grade.  Then we ran out of pinecones.

Once, we threw a pincone in a fire (we used to go camping a lot), and it produced a green flame.

Oooo!  Was it an open pinecone?

What am I saying, of course it was.  If it wasn't, it would've exploded, and then you would've mentioned it exploding before mentioning the green flame part.  Right?

Right?

Right.  I've never been able to reproduce it.  Well, except in the lab, when burning copper.
