Eh, I should probably ask around too. I don't really think they should have changed the novice reqs around, they've been there for a long while, and everyone knows them.

The SEntaari can be surprisingly enigmatic, even to thier own full members, not telling thme, or giving them any clue whatsoever of what the leadership might be considering. It can be fun, playing "waht will they think up next?" with your peers. I bet next week, the senataari wqill have to wear thier underwear on the outside so that the leader's can make sure it's clean.

...the gods decided requiring mentors was bad?  What the hell?  That's screwed up.  What else are mentors there for?  And if all the other mentors are overloaded, well, that's just because the other guilds didn't have me back in their beginnings to put in mentor limits to STOP that from happening...

The big boom happened recently because of mass advertising on web-comic sites. The Novice to Mentor ratio use to probably be something like 5:1 or more, now it's about 20:1 and a lot of the mentors, at least in my guild, seem to be disappearing, which I'd hazard a bet on the fact that most people don't like being over-run with true newbies because we've always had a low population.

Yeah. Belakai and Varian said we had to remove any requirements that depended on a novice waiting for an individuals time, i.e. the mentor pretesting. I still say that having a mentor to guide you through guild life is necessary...

As do I...but I suppose if there really is such a lack, we'll have to make do.

Hehe, we Magi found a bit of a way around it that we already checked will work. Instead of having mentors pretest, it can be any qualified novice aide. Pretty much, they have to take two tests in a way.

Ok, one of these days I WILL remember to look at all the pages before replying...anyways..

Jaha, I had a long talk with Rhaea about the reqs cause Syli's still annoyed about 'em. Mentors are no longer required to be from the same guild. Sponsors is just something Rhaea came up with so we could keep at least a small bit of control over the Sent novices. No more background, no writing required over 3 sentences long, so that's our new minimum.

I'm still annoyed I'm not allowed to make the reqs harder, Rhaea's told me probation is hard enough we don't need it...I'm going to dread the next few years and the idiots that will get to probation

I always thought it was a good idea to require mentors. True, soem of the mentors are overwhelmed by a flood of real newbies, but I tihnk that in soem cases, it jsut shows who's willing to sacrifice a bit of time now, to ensure thier students, and these new players recieve a decent education in this world. By removing mentros, we virtually ensure we will get a flood oif n00bish scum that will overhwelm the game, and drown it out, much like what happened to Achaea.

...Hopefully, this "No mentors" thing will pass after this recruitment drive, and then we can star to cull the scum that slipped through.
