Joined: 11.05.2005 Posts: 1667 | Posted: 19 Jul 2006 15:47 Subject: Mmm, most of the rest of Canada is a little more gentle on the temperature scale (IE, they have a 60 or 70 degree celcius spread, not 90) but I'm on the flat part...so no mountains to block the cold winds, no trees to filter out the heat. Plus we tend to regularly get doughts, so that makes it REALLY hot and REALLY cold. Droughts in winter? Are no fun, let me tell you. Clouds in winter keep some of the heat in. When there's no clouds, all that heat escapes, so you have dry cold.
And Indi, it is possible to live in -50. It's called stay in the heated house unless you absolutely have to leave, and then bundle yourself up to look like a cold Invisible Man.
The sad part is, I'm less than a days drive from the American border. |
