And, I dunno. Well, here's the little thing about it from Wikipedia:

Glomping is a form of greeting used by anime fans in the West. A typical "glomp" involves bear hugging someone and latching on tightly, though not enough to intentionally hurt the recipient. Sometimes it includes a running start and sometimes a kiss is implied. It has since expanded into slang amongst otaku, primarily on IRC, chat rooms, and Internet forums as an extended form of greeting. It is important to note that glomping is consensual; that is, that it is usually done in settings and situations where permission is implied, otherwise it could be termed a form of assault. Even then, others may see it as an overzealous and embarrassing form of behavior.
