So what are your favourite music artists?
Poted by Arynn on 10 Nov 2005 06:52 -
System of a Down FTW
Poted by Avian on 10 Nov 2005 07:03 -
Nickelback.
Poted by Kealiock on 10 Nov 2005 07:10 -
oooo Soad... and gah avian... i thought i liked you... although they have a couple good songs... not the worst out there...
Poted by Avian on 10 Nov 2005 07:12 -
Photograph.

Someday.

How You Remind Me.

Feelin' Way Too Damn Good.

Hoobastank is a cool band too. Train... etc.
Poted by Avian on 10 Nov 2005 07:12 -
Isn't SoaD the emo band?
Poted by Kealiock on 10 Nov 2005 07:18 -
soad is like me saying ICP... though i woner how many of you know what that is
Poted by Arynn on 10 Nov 2005 07:24 -
Insane Clown Posse.
No, SoaD is not emo.
Nickelback *drool*
Poted by Sarkis on 10 Nov 2005 13:30 -
...ICP can burn in the depths of hell, the little fucks. So can their "juggalo" scum fan bitches. I used to get into fist fights with the little bastards.

SOAD is one of my favorites. I also like Cannibal Ox, Jedi Mind Tricks, Cypress Hill, Queens of the Stona Age, the Beetles, Johnny Cash, White Stripes, the Gorlliaz, Motzart, Beehtoven, ,HOLST! *Drool* , Tchacosky(meh, spelling, I know) Musgorsky, Rokmonanov, Handel, Leisiem, Enya, Bach, Verdi...

The list is very, very, very long. My taste of music covers nearly every decent aspect of musical style and thought, with the exclusion of Country "music" And Emo. May they both face the tribulations and agonies they both deserve.
Poted by Arynn on 10 Nov 2005 13:41 -
I like Queens of the Stone Age and The Gorilliaz. Ramstien is also awesome. Metallica, Godsmack, Creed, Disturbed, so on. I love rock.
I can tolerate country...and rap, but I don't like either.
Poted by Sarkis on 10 Nov 2005 13:46 -
MEh...Rammenstien was...ok, sound wise, but once I actually could make out the lyrics, I realized that homosexual-pedophiliac-incest was not exactly my taste in lyrical choice.
Poted by Sarkis on 10 Nov 2005 13:48 -
Note: To all you Rap haters, I don't listen to rap, I listen to hip-hop.

Rap comes from hip hop, but is usally more commercial, and only encompasses one end of the spectrum of the style known as hip hop.

SoaD roxoors my soxxors.

Flogging molly, Great Big Sea, Black 47, Madness, Rancid, Lars Frederikson and the Bastards, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Dropkick Murphys, Bowling for soup, All American Rejects, Goldfinger, Gordon Lightfoot, Weezer, Warren Zevon, Asleep Behind the Wheel, Nickelback AND Nickle Creek (for bluegrass-ish music is awesome), The Killers, Judy Garland (somewhere over the raaaaaaaaaainbow...), Green Day, Reel Big Fish, Avril Lavigne, and Weird Al.

Oh, and who doesn't love Ella fitzgerald, the Queen of Jazz vocals?
Poted by Arota on 10 Nov 2005 16:29 -
Hip-hop...*shudder*  One of four music genres that I cannot stand.  The others being country, rap, and anythign where the artists have absolutely no singing talent. (having had singing lessons, such music bugs me)

Beyond that...I listen to just about anything.  I'm developing a soft spot for Greenday, currently, but...well, current playlist has everything from Greenday to Metallica, Jann Arden, Superchick, Evanescence, The Waterboys, and Queen.  The remnants of my teenage years have been left out of that list for the sanity of all involved.
Poted by Yreogh on 10 Nov 2005 16:30 -
Ever heard of H20?
Poted by Yreogh on 10 Nov 2005 16:41 -
Also, the Andrew Sisters, while I'm thinking about it.

Me?  No, but the name does sound familiar.
Poted by Yreogh on 10 Nov 2005 16:55 -
Well, I'm a bit of a ska fan, so I found them by accident.
Poted by Arota on 10 Nov 2005 17:11 -
Ska!  So, ska fan, care to explain to me exactly what type of music Ska is?  I've been trying to find out for years.  Nobody can tell me.
Poted by Asilient on 10 Nov 2005 17:40 -
SOAD, Metallica..

Heavy metal and rock, mostly. Although I am into some orchestrated music, too, mostly from movies. Only ones that usually really stir me or inspire me.
Poted by Indiana on 10 Nov 2005 17:53 -
Let's see .. don't ask me what I listen to, there are lots of genres .. right now I have in my playlist .. 2Pac, 50 Cent, Placebo, Guns'n'Roses and Linkin Park .. about 2-3 albums each .. except for 2Pac - I have about 10 of his albums for some strange reason (right now).
Poted by Kealiock on 10 Nov 2005 20:17 -

Ska is "skater music".
It's a typical rock band with a horn section.  Mostly about having a good time and how great girls are.  Sometimes ironic or self-mocking.
Good time stuff

I like a bit of music from every genre I can think of at the moment, including Ska, discluding rap.  Anything about ass shakin' that ISN'T a Bloodhound Gang song, I don't wanna hear.
From what I've seen so far, I agree with Arryn and Yreogh the most in musical tastes.
If I could add in a few bands, they'd be
1) Death Cab for Cutie - If you've not heard of them and like alternative music, check them out.
2) Danzig - Guy sounds like a modern day Elvis.  Freaky? A little bit.
3) Wolf Parade
4) Tom Waitts
5) Jason Webley
6) Ray Charles - Georgia on My Mind > 90% of the music out there.
and last but not least:
7) Don't ask me why, but Billy Idol.  The music just never gets old.

Oh, and I love Greenday. Favorite album - Dookie.  Favorite song - 17
